Ticketing Platform Comparison

GuestlistOnline
vs Ticketkantoor

One flat Dutch ticket fee including VAT and iDEAL vs a guest list platform where free events cost nothing.

Free up to 50 guests
Free plan: no credit card
Free events: no fees
Short answer

Ticketkantoor is the simplest price in Dutch ticketing: one flat €0.80 per issued ticket, including 21% VAT and the iDEAL, Bancontact and Pay by Bank costs, with no subscription and an all-in price at checkout by policy. Two things sit behind that number. Free tickets also cost €0.80 each, so a 200-guest complimentary list costs €160, and Ticketkantoor holds the money until you close the event in the dashboard. There is no API, no promoter tracking, a Dutch-only dashboard and a shop in three languages. GuestlistOnline charges more on a paid ticket — 5% + €0.25, payment processing included — but charges nothing on free events, pays out to your own Stripe account as tickets sell, and runs the invitations, RSVP and promoters around the ticket.

Key differences

What sets them apart

The details that matter when choosing between the two.

Where Ticketkantoor wins: €0.80 flat on a paid ticket

Ticketkantoor charges one flat €0.80 per issued ticket with 21% VAT and the iDEAL, Bancontact and Pay by Bank costs already inside it, and no percentage at all. On 200 tickets at €25 that is €160 against €300 with GuestlistOnline, where the 5% + €0.25 already includes payment processing — and on a €50 ticket the gap doubles. If the fee per paid ticket is the number you optimise for, they win it, and their policy of putting the fee inside the ticket price means the buyer sees one all-in figure at checkout.

Where GuestlistOnline wins: free events cost nothing

The €0.80 is charged on every issued ticket, and Ticketkantoor is explicit that free tickets are no exception: a 200-guest complimentary list costs €160 before anyone has paid you anything. GuestlistOnline charges no fees on free events, on every plan — the free plan covers 1 event and 50 guests with manual check-in, QR check-in and unlimited guests for one event cost €19.99 once, and Pro is €29/month or €249/year however many free guests you invite. For an invitation-led party, opening, wedding or association evening, that is the whole cost comparison.

When the money actually reaches you

Ticketkantoor collects the ticket money through Mollie and holds it: the payout starts only once you close the event in the dashboard, then takes one to two working days and at most three. If you need the takings to pay suppliers before the doors open, that is a real constraint. GuestlistOnline never touches the money — Stripe Connect settles into your own account as the tickets sell, iDEAL included — and you can sell in euros, dollars or pounds, where Ticketkantoor is euro-only and aimed at the Netherlands and Belgium.

Promoters, roles, languages and an API

Ticketkantoor publishes no API or webhooks — an iframe embed and an Excel export are the way in and out — no promoter tracking beyond discount codes, a main account plus scan-only logins rather than proper roles, a shop in Dutch, English and German, and a dashboard in Dutch only. GuestlistOnline tracks which promoter brought each guest and calculates their commission, gives you 6 roles with up to 50 team members on Pro, runs the dashboard, emails and registration pages in 7 languages, and exposes a REST API and webhooks on Enterprise. Their offline scanning is not published either, where ours works with no signal and syncs afterwards.

Fair is fair

When Ticketkantoor is the better choice

If you sell paid tickets in the Netherlands or Belgium and want the simplest possible price, Ticketkantoor is the cheaper tool.

  • Paid tickets of roughly €10 to €50 sold with iDEAL or Bancontact
  • You want one flat fee with VAT and payment costs already inside it
  • A Dutch-language dashboard, Dutch support and a Dutch data centre matter to you
  • Time slots, vouchers, group discounts, a member database or assigned seating
  • You do not need invitations, plus-ones, tags, promoter commissions or an API
Migration

Switching from Ticketkantoor

Ticketkantoor exports the attendee list and the orders to Excel. Save the attendee sheet as CSV and import it into GuestlistOnline, mapping names, email addresses and any custom answers you want to keep.

What carries over

  • Attendee names and email addresses from the Excel export
  • Ticket type and order reference, mapped to a tag or a custom field
  • Answers to your custom order questions, mapped to custom questions
  • Check-in status, as the exported record of who arrived

What doesn't

  • The Mollie arrangement: GuestlistOnline pays out through your own Stripe Connect account as tickets sell, instead of after the event is closed
  • Time slots, vouchers, group discounts, the member database and assigned seating
  • The ticketkantoor.nl shop page and any iframe embedded on your site
  • PDF e-tickets already sent, and any rented or borrowed PDA scanners
