Ticketing Platform Comparison

GuestlistOnline
vs MijnEvent

Dutch flat-fee ticketing with iDEAL vs an international guest list and check-in platform.

Free up to 50 guests
Free plan: no credit card
Free events: no fees
Short answer

MijnEvent has the cheapest flat ticket fee in the Netherlands, €0.25 to €0.50 per paid ticket including VAT with Mollie costs on top, iDEAL through your own Mollie account and a well-documented privacy posture. It is a ticket shop rather than a guest list: no CSV guest import, tags, plus-ones, invitation flow or promoter tracking are published, and it serves the Dutch market only. GuestlistOnline charges more per paid ticket (5% + €0.25, processing included, nothing on free events) and does everything before and at the door.

Key differences

What sets them apart

The details that matter when choosing between the two.

Where MijnEvent wins: the fee per paid ticket

MijnEvent charges a flat €0.50 per paid ticket, or €0.25 with the €14.95 Organizer licence per published event, and no percentage at all, with Mollie's costs — about €0.32 per iDEAL order — charged separately. On 200 tickets at €25 that is €128.95 on the Organizer plan against €300 with GuestlistOnline, where the 5% + €0.25 already includes payment processing. On a €50 ticket the gap per ticket is wider still. If the fee per paid ticket is the number you optimise for, they win it, and their pricing page states every figure with the date it was reviewed.

Where GuestlistOnline wins: everything before the door

MijnEvent publishes no CSV guest import, no tags, no plus-ones, no invitation and RSVP flow and no approval step — it sells tickets and scans them. GuestlistOnline imports the list from CSV, tags and filters it, collects plus-one names with your own wording, sends invitations and reminders, holds registrations for approval and tracks which promoter actually brought each guest, with commissions calculated per promoter. For an invitation-driven guest list those are the whole job, not extras.

Where MijnEvent wins: iDEAL, Dutch fit and the commerce stack

MijnEvent runs on Mollie Connect, so iDEAL, Wero, Bancontact, cards, Mollie terminals and cash at the box office all settle straight into the organiser's own account, with VAT invoices, a Dutch-language admin and Dutch support. Around the ticket sit reserved seating, ticket resale, gift cards, memberships, vouchers, merchandise, parking, time slots and wallet tickets. GuestlistOnline supports iDEAL through Stripe and has none of those modules.

Where GuestlistOnline wins: outside the Netherlands

MijnEvent is euro-only and Mollie-only, and serves the Dutch market; its checkout speaks 11 languages but the admin is Dutch and English. GuestlistOnline sells in euros, dollars and pounds through Stripe Connect, charges the 5% + €0.25 in whichever currency the ticket is in, runs the dashboard, emails and registration pages in 7 languages, and is hosted in the EU. For an event in Berlin, London or New York, or a team working in a language other than Dutch or English, that is the deciding difference.

Fair is fair

When MijnEvent is the better choice

If you sell paid tickets in the Netherlands and the fee per ticket is what you optimise for, MijnEvent is the cheaper tool.

  • Paid events with iDEAL through your own Mollie account
  • Reserved seating, ticket resale, gift cards or memberships
  • Dutch-language support and a Dutch legal entity matter to you
  • You do not need invitations, plus-ones, tags or promoter attribution
Migration

Switching from MijnEvent

MijnEvent exports orders, visitors and statistics to CSV, delivered as an encrypted archive. Unpack it, then import the visitor file into GuestlistOnline and map the columns you want to keep.

What carries over

  • Visitor names and email addresses from the CSV export
  • Ticket type and order reference, mapped to a custom field or a tag
  • Check-in status, as the exported record of who arrived

What doesn't

  • The Mollie connection: GuestlistOnline pays out through your own Stripe Connect account instead
  • Seating plans, resale listings, gift cards, memberships and the other commerce modules
  • Wallet tickets already issued, and any ticket widget embedded on your site
