How do I set ticket prices, early bird and discount tiers?

Short answer

Under Edit Event, Pricing, switch the event to paid, choose the currency and enter the general price. Optionally add an early bird price with a deadline and a friends and family price, and give artists and sponsors their own free and discounted spots when you invite them. Which price a guest pays follows from how they were added: public registrations pay general or early bird, guests you add by hand are free unless you say otherwise.

The price tiers

  • Free: guests you add or import yourself. VIPs, family, press. No payment step.
  • General: the public registration price and regular invites you mark as paid.
  • Early bird: a lower price until a date and time you set. After the deadline the page shows the general price automatically.
  • Friends and family: a discounted price you can apply to selected guests.
  • Artists and sponsors: per team member, a number of free spots and discounted spots with their own price, set when you invite them.

Set them

  1. Open the event, click Edit and go to Pricing.
  2. Switch to Paid event and choose the currency. The currency is fixed once tickets are sold.
  3. Enter the general price. Add early bird price and deadline, and the friends and family price if you use them.
  4. Save. Guests see the price on the registration page and pay before their ticket is issued.

Changing prices later

New prices apply to payments from that moment. Tickets already paid keep their amount. If you lower the price, earlier buyers are not refunded automatically; do that in Stripe if you want to.

Companions

Companions on a paid event pay the same price as the main guest; the payment page shows the total for the party.

Questions about this

Can I sell different ticket types, like VIP and regular?
Not as separate products in one event. Use the tiers above, or create a second event for the VIP ticket and link both from your flyer.
Is VAT included in the price?
The price you enter is what the guest pays. You handle VAT in your own bookkeeping; Stripe can produce the reports.
Can I offer a discount code?
Not yet. Use the friends and family price on selected guests, or a promoter link if the discount is tied to a person.
