How do promoter links, commission and approval work?

Short answer

Invite a promoter under Team with the role Promoter. They get a personal registration link (your event link with their code) to share; guests who register through it are tagged with the promoter and counted on the Promoters page. Set a commission per ticket sold, per check-in or a percentage of sales, and choose whether their guests are approved automatically or need your approval.

Set up a promoter

Open the event, go to Team, click Invite Team Member and choose Promoter.
Set the display name guests see, the link slug (for example anna), and the commission: none, a fixed amount per ticket, a fixed amount per check-in, or a percentage of ticket sales.
Send the invite. The link exists immediately, so you can pass it on before the promoter has signed up; it attaches to their account when they join.

The link

The promoter's link is your registration link with their code added. Anyone who registers through it appears on the guest list with the promoter's name and on the Promoters page under that promoter. Promoters see their own guests and stats, copy their link and code, and nothing else.

Approval

Auto approve: promoter guests get their ticket at once. Good for trusted promoters.
Manual approval: their guests land in Pending approval and you approve on the Guests page, same as public registrations.
Switch per promoter on the Promoters page.

Commission and settlement

Commission is calculated per sale or per check-in as guests come in. Changing the rule applies from then on; earned amounts are not recalculated.
The Promoters page shows signups, check-ins, conversion, revenue, earned and pending per promoter.
After the event, Export Settlement gives a sheet per promoter. Pay them your way and click Mark as Paid.
