My Pro payment failed. How do I update my card?
Short answer
Open Organization settings and click Manage subscription. That opens the Stripe billing portal where you replace the card and retry the open invoice. Stripe also retries automatically over a few days. Pro features stay active for a short grace period after a failed payment; if the invoice stays unpaid the subscription is paused until it is settled.
Update the card
- Sign in and open Organization settings from the account menu.
- Click Manage subscription. You land in the Stripe billing portal.
- Under payment methods, add the new card and make it default. Remove the old one if it is expired.
- Open the unpaid invoice and click Pay. The subscription is active again immediately.
What happens after a failed payment
- You receive an email from us and from Stripe with a link to fix the payment.
- Stripe retries the card a few times over the following days.
- Pro features stay on for a grace period of a few days so a running event is not disturbed.
- After that the workspace falls back to the free plan until the invoice is paid: events and guests are kept, but Pro features such as extra events, automations and analytics pause.
Common causes
- Expired or replaced card. Corporate cards with a spending limit.
- Bank asked for a 3D Secure confirmation that nobody clicked. Paying the invoice in the portal repeats the confirmation.
- Insufficient funds on a prepaid card.
Cancel instead
If you do not want to continue, cancel in the same portal. The subscription ends at the end of the period you paid for; an open invoice is voided when you cancel before paying it.
Questions about this
- Do I get an invoice after paying?
- Yes. Stripe emails the receipt and the invoice is in the billing portal under invoice history.
- Can I switch to a per event payment instead of Pro?
- Yes. Cancel Pro in the portal and buy a per event upgrade on the events that need it.
- I paid but the account still shows past due.
- Sign out and in again; if it persists, message us in the chat with the invoice number and we check it in Stripe.
