Why did some emails not arrive, and how do I see which ones?
Short answer
Open your event's Emails page. The "Email delivery" card shows how many emails were delivered, are awaiting confirmation, bounced or failed, and "Show which addresses" lists the exact recipients with the reason. On the Guests page, failed sends show a banner with the cause and a "Show failed guests" filter.
Where to look
- Emails page: the Email delivery card at the top. Click Show which addresses under it to see every bounced, failed or spam-flagged address, what happened, when, and a Fix address link to the guest.
- Guests page: after a send, the guest's status column moves from Queued to Sent, Delivered or Failed. When something fails, a banner above the list explains the cause and offers Show failed guests.
What the statuses mean
- Delivered: the receiving mail server accepted the email.
- Awaiting confirmation: sent, no confirmation yet. Usually resolves within minutes.
- Delayed: the receiving server asked us to retry. We keep trying automatically.
- Bounced (address does not exist): a typo or a closed mailbox. Fix the address and resend.
- Bounced (mailbox full or temporary): try again later.
- Failed: our system could not hand the email over at all. The banner shows the error; with your own mail server this is usually a password or sender problem.
- Accepted by your mail server: you send through your own SMTP or Microsoft 365. Their server took the email; bounces then arrive in your own mailbox, not here.
Fixing a bounced address
- Click Fix address next to the bounced entry. The guest list opens filtered on that guest.
- Edit the email address and save.
- Select the guest and send the invitation or QR ticket again.
Questions about this
- Why does it say 1 sent when I invited 50 guests?
- The card counts confirmations. Delivered means confirmed by the receiving server; the remaining ones are still awaiting confirmation or bounced. Check the Guests page for the per-guest status.
- I use my own SMTP. Why is nothing marked Delivered?
- Delivery confirmations only exist for the default GuestlistOnline sender. Your own mail server does not report back to us; bounces land in your own inbox.
