How do I hide the event description in an email?

Short answer

Open the email template, and under the "Email Subject & Header Text" card switch off "Show event description". The switch is per template, so you can hide the description in the QR ticket email and keep it in the invitation.

Every email template (invitation, QR ticket, reminders, thank-you) can include your event description under your own text. When your message already says everything, or the description is long, you can switch it off per template.

Steps

  1. Open your event and go to Emails.
  2. Click Edit on the template you want to change, for example QR Code / Ticket.
  3. Directly under the card Email Subject & Header Text you see the switch Show event description. Turn it off.
  4. The preview updates immediately and the change saves automatically ("All changes saved").

What changes in the email

The block with your event description disappears. Your own greeting and text, the banner image, the date and location strip and the button stay. Guests who already received the email are not affected; the switch applies to emails sent from now on.

Good to know

  • The switch exists for every language of a template. If you customised the German and English versions separately, switch it off in both.
  • Check the end of your own text. Sentences like "Here is all the information again:" introduced the description and may read oddly without it.

Questions about this

Does the switch hide the description in every email?
No. It works per template. Switch it off in the QR ticket email and the invitation still shows the description until you switch it off there too.
Can I hide the date and location strip as well?
Not yet. The date, time and location strip is part of every event email. Hiding it is on our list.
