Why can I only add one companion in the Add Guest form?

How do companions (plus-ones) work, and how do I add more than one?

Short answer

A guest can bring companions when you allow it on the RSVP page. Each companion becomes their own guest row with a name, optional email and their own QR code. To add several companions at once, raise "Maximum companions" in the RSVP editor; to add them one by one to an existing guest, use "Add companion" on the guest.

Turning companions on

Open your event and go to RSVP page.
In the panel on the right, under the companion options, choose whether guests can bring companions and how: with names, or only as a number.
Set Maximum companions to the number one guest may bring (1 to 4). This maximum applies to guests who register themselves and to the Add Guest form on your Guests page.
Optionally require an email address per companion so every companion receives their own QR ticket.

Adding companions to an existing guest

Go to Guests and open the guest, or click the three dots on their row.
Click Add companion and enter the name, and the email if you want them to get their own ticket.
Repeat for every companion. This action is not limited by the maximum; the maximum only applies to the registration form.

How companions appear

Companions are listed under their main guest and count in your totals. Each has an RSVP status, can be checked in separately at the door, and appears in exports. If a companion cannot come, decline them from the guest's overview without touching the main guest.

At the door

When door staff scan the main guest's QR code, the scanner shows the whole party with a checkbox per person, so a group can be admitted together. If you want every person to scan their own code instead, turn on strict scanning on the Check-in page.
